About the artist
The recent paintings of Michael Joyce combine images from mass media to project narratives with irony and humor. The compositions evoke the discomforting juxtapositions of environmental and political culture, modern advertising and pop art, all with traditional art historical icons and conventions.
Joyce has had solo exhibitions in Los Angeles and Seattle and participated in numerous group shows in New York City and around the country.
